What is the status of the CINP World Congress?
The CINP 2020 World Congress of Neuropsychopharmacology, rescheduled to 25 - 28 February 2021 in Taipei, Taiwan, will now take place virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Why has the CINP in-person congress been changed to a virtual format?
The CINP Executive Committee puts the health and welfare of participants and the local host community at the forefront of its decision making. The continuous risk assessment regarding the global spread of COVID-19 and the travel restrictions that are changing daily led us to take this decision. We are also aware that domestic and international restrictions are impacting (and likely will continue to impact) the ability of many colleagues to participate.
Refunds
I am planning to attend the CINP Virtual World Congress in February 2021 - can I simply transfer my registration fee to the new congress format?
Yes. The congress has changed format rather than been cancelled so your registration has been transferred at no cost to the virtual congress taking place from 26 to 28 February 2021. Should you change your mind or be unable to join us in February 2021, your registration fee will be refunded. Please note that cancellations received after 12 October 2020 will not be refunded. Refunds could take 2 – 4 weeks to be processed.
As the registration fees for the virtual congress will be lower than those for the in-person congress, delegates registered to date will be able to request a reimbursement for the cost difference or donate this amount towards CINP’s educational activities instead.
Additionally, delegates registered under the main CINP member category will be able to bring a junior colleague (35 years old or younger in 2021) to attend the virtual congress at no charge.
Delegates registered under the main non-member category will be able to bring a junior colleague (35 years old or younger in 2021) to attend the virtual congress at the special rate of USD 50.
These options will also be open to new registrants in the main CINP member/non-member categories.
You will shortly receive an email from the Congress Secretariat listing these options and new registration fees to help you decide. Please also check your spam folder for this communication, just in case.
Can my congress registration fee be refunded?
Your registration has been transferred to the new virtual congress; however, you may choose instead to be refunded in full. Please email cinp2021-registration at cinp.org to request a refund by 12 October 2020. Please note that cancellations received after 12 October 2020 will not be refunded. Refunds could take 2 – 4 weeks to be processed.
Can my congress registration be transferred to a new delegate?
Yes. To transfer your registration to another person, please email CINP2021-registration at cinp.org with the original delegate’s registration ID or full name and provide us with the new delegate’s information.
Can I transfer my exhibit and/or sponsorship fee to the new CINP Congress dates?
Yes. Your sponsorship contribution from rescheduled congress can be transferred to the new CINP virtual congress. As the virtual offering may be different to in-person options, our sponsorship sales manager will reach out to you to discuss the new opportunities. Please feel free to email sponsorship at cinp.org if you have any questions.
Presenters
Will I have to resubmit my presentation or poster proposal for the virtual congress?
The CINP scientific programme committee will select a number of sessions and presentations from the rescheduled in-person congress to feature in the programme of the virtual congress.
We will encourage all other speakers to transfer their submission to the next in-person congress, which will take place from 1 to 4 November 2021 in Montreal, Canada. You will also have a chance to edit your existing proposal. More details on the process of transferring your submission will be available soon.
